Why Yoga can be beneficial for your body?

It might seem to you that everyone you know is currently either an avid yoga practiser or is thinking about taking a yoga class. Either way, you may not know what the fuss is all about and can’t comprehend why suddenly everyone seems so into it. Because of that, we have decided to talk about why yoga is beneficial for your body and why is so important to do yoga as often as possible.

For over 5,000 years, yoga has been practiced as a way to improve and sustain both physical and mental health. Since is one of the best low-impact exercises out there, with a seemingly endless list of benefits for people with a host of chronic health conditions, including asthma or heart disease, even MS.

Yoga can help your bones, your muscles, your joints, and even your back pain.

For your bones

it’s great for strengthening bones and improving bone density over time. In addition, by doing weight-bearing exercises it reduces the risk of fractures by improving muscle strength and balance which in turn helps to prevent falls. Many people who suffer from osteoarthritis, arthritis of the knee, or other joint pain find yoga to be a pain-free form of exercise that helps improve flexibility and function.

Muscles

Many of the postures and poses in a yoga practice involve the majority of the muscles in the body. As you work to hold and balance in these poses, the muscles around your joints are strengthened. As stronger muscles support the body, stress, and strain on your joints is relieved. Many poses both stretch and strengthen the muscles, which can protect your joints, lower your risk of injury, and often delay or prevent arthritis.

Joints

Healthy bones and strong muscles equal happy joints. If your bones and your muscles are both strong, the stress and strain that causes pain will be taken off your joints. As your whole joint becomes stronger, your flexibility and range of motion will increase along with your stability. Staying active also keeps the cartilage in your joints healthy, which can be lost through immobilization.

Back pain

Back pain is eased with yoga because the practice helps improve flexibility and muscular strength. Research suggests that yoga is a more effective treatment for chronic back pain than the usual care for improving back function.

MS

For people who suffer from Multi Sclerosis Syndrome yoga can be very helpful. Since the loss of muscle function, coordination, and other issues that come with multiple sclerosis can be frustrating, the practice of yoga might help with MS by improving both physical function and mood. It can also help with day-to-day functioning by improving balance and muscle alignment, strengthening muscles, and promoting relaxation, which helps with overall stress levels.

Research has found that for people with MS, a regular yoga practice improved flexibility, along with the quality of life factors like fatigue, well-being, and energy levels.
